Brief Bio

Kristi Arsenault received her B.Sc. in geography from Arizona State University, a M.Sc. in atmospheric sciences from The Ohio State University, and her Ph.D. in climate dynamics from George Mason University. She is a research scientist at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GFSC) in the Hydrological Sciences Laboratory and works for SAIC, Inc. Her research has included assimilating remotely sensed snow observations in to land surface models to seasonal climate forecasting in Africa and the Middle East. Kristi is also a core member of the Land Information Systems (LIS) team at NASA/GSFC and works on assimilating different satellite observations, such as terrestrial water storage and soil moisture, to improve forecast initial conditions.
